Telefonica and Acea together for UMTS
Spanish telecoms company Telefonica has issued a statement to announce that it has signed an agreement with ACEA to form a consortium that will participate ‘in the bid for the award of one of the five UMTS mobile phone licenses in Italy . At the Spanish group will manage the consortium and also the majority of the capital. Telefonica MAY ‘open alliance with other partners, with whom negotiations are ongoing, and in this case reduce its share capital.
